INTRODUCTION TO the
h"WORLD of WYNDENWOOD"h Graphic Novel
hCOMING SOON...Chapt. 1; "THE DESCENT OF TAR"h
Every
world has a history. Our earth at one time a rotating sphere of nothingness grew
over billions of years into a lush home for millions of species. So grew
WyndenWood.
No one is quite sure who arrived
first. The Relvins of course knew their clan laid claim to being WyndenWood's
first and most ancient of inhabitants. Tiny in size but many in number, these
winged intellectuals were the self appointed stewards of the land...and had been
since time remembered.
Their home, Great Root Village,
lay at the centre of WyndenWood. All matters for all people were resolved and
decided here with 7 elders finalizing each decision. What was best for all
involved was always the highest priority.
The laws and religion of WyndenWood were all transferred from a very mysterious
and very secretive book of Relvion. This ancient text was known of by all but
only accessible by the most senior of elders. So precious was this Book, it
remained under lock and key in the Elder Tower hundreds of feet from the ground.
And to guarantee the Book would not fall into hands of ill use, two Slithes
protected it at all times. Their high shrill screams made for an ear splitting
alarm and lightening fast, a slithe could quickly wrap itself around an intruder
and hold tight until help arrived. The mere thought of being choked
by a Slithe kept any bad thoughts at bay.
The Book of Relvion was cherished for several reasons. Believed to be a Gift
given to the first Relvins by the Great Creator, within its pages were the
secrets to WhiteCraft; a majick taught to the First by the Creator and if used,
only ever as a positive force to benefit the residents
of the land.
Living alongside the Relvins were many other animal clans, families and
villages; some making their homes on the Jarah plains, others the Taji
Grasslands-preferring the huge rolling prairies as ideal land for their
underearth settlements.
Other clans, notably the Drazelles, were closely tied to the Relvins; their
deer=like members choosing to reside beside Great Root Village in Echovale
Forest. Very shy and high strung, Drazelles enjoyed the protection of both the
Relvins and the Giant WildWood Trees=affording the shy families perfect
camoflauge in which to raise their young.
Life was good in WyndenWood. The winter crops of berries and treefruit grown by
the Relvin was seeing its largest harvest in many moon changes. The grassland
communities were coming together in trade and commerce-even the Wolvines were
killing only what they needed and then, making sure the prey was either old or
ill.
To say "all good things come to an end" to a Relvin would garner a very
quizzical response. That is, before the Great Plague was set upon the Wolvine
Tribe. At a time when all were enjoying the fruits of their hard work, their
shared beliefs and their cooperation, none could have foreseen the
repercussions this dark cloud that enveloped the Lands of WyndenWood would have.
